The Obama administration has tapped University of Michigan law professor Michael S. Barr to fill one of three senior positions currently vacant in the Treasury Department, Bloomberg News reported Monday.
If confirmed by the Senate, Barr’s new role will be the department’s assistant treasury secretary for financial institutions.
Barr, 43, served as assistant director of financial institutions to former Clinton administration Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and the Brookings Institution.
