After layoffs, Lansing State Journal fills news hole with live webcam

With the advent of web camera of significantly higher quality and cheaper than in years past, the Lansing State Journal has moved to fill a gap in news coverage caused by the recent lay off of 34 employees by feeding video from a web cam on its website.
 
The web cam points out at one of the corners near the downtown building of the Lansing State Journal, which is located at Lenawee and Grand Ave. Viewers during Wednesday’s launch were treated to watching snow fall and cars driving by.

The web cam feed will also be used to feed live editorial board interviews.

Some would prefer live video feeds like this one of Hawaii.
