Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan has ratified the national Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s unanimous recommendation to endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president.
The Action Fund is Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s political and advocacy arm.
“Sen. Barack Obama has a long and consistent record of standing up for women’s health care,” said PPAM Executive Director Sarah Scranton. “As president, he will be a leader to improve access to quality health care for women, continue to support and protect a woman’s right to choose, and invest in prevention programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies and reduce the need for abortion.”
PPAF plans to aggressively educate voters on the voting records of Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain. McCain’s record on women’s health has earned him a zero percent rating from Planned Parenthood.
Following ratification by its state and local action funds, the national Action Fund will officially endorse Obama for president.
