Michigan’s House Ethics and Elections Committee passed two bills on to the full House to consider that are part of the ethics and government accountability package that the Democrats in the state legislature have proposed. Those bills would dock a lawmaker’s pay for each day they miss while the House is in session and would prevent all legislators and executive branch officials from lobbying the government for two years after they leave office. A third bill that would require financial disclosure for all elected officials is still pending in committee.
