Since the Detroit mayoral primary, winning candidate and businessman Dave Bing has been off the political radar.
More has been heard from former candidate Freman Hendrix who lost the primary than from Bing. Last night Hendrix played hard ball with political leaders and commentators WJBK Fox 2’s weekly political talk show “Let it Rip.”
Hendrix also called into the Mildred Gaddis morning talk show on WCHB-AM 1200 twice this week.
But Bing, who could be using this time as an opportunity to demonstrate his leadership skills to bridge a divided city, is staying mum. Is this change or more of the same?
Perhaps Bing has a legitimate reason for staying low key; anything’s possible.
However Bing has been a supporter of the Cobo deal; some might wonder whether he shouldn’t be out improving relationships in the community after the Cobo deal was voted down. It’s a chance to prove he’s the change that he’s bragged about so often.
