Dave Weigel at our sister site, The Washington Independent, has been liveblogging the runoff for Republican National Committee chair. Saul Anuzis, most recently chair of the Michigan Republican Party, held on until the race narrowed down to the final two about 30 minutes ago after the fifth round of balloting.
The last two candidates, Michael Steele of Maryland and Katon Dawson of South Carolina, are now working the refs and trying to win over the votes Anuzis had garnered until he stepped out.
You can follow along as Weigel continues liveblogging at The Washington Independent. You can also check Anuzis reaction at his Twitter account. Anuzis counted on his use of social media like Twitter to put him ahead; wonder what he’ll use Twitter for now?
