The treasurer for Lansing Mayor Virgil Bernero’s campaign committee for his bid for governor owes $91,000 in overdue property taxes, reports the Lansing State Journal. Charles Moore tells the paper he has made arrangements to pay the money owed, but has “been a victim of the economy.”

Former Genesee County Treasurer Dan Kildee has announced he will file paperwork to run for governor Tuesday. The Flint Journal is reporting Kildee, 51, will file the paperwork in Lansing and lead to a formal announcement. Kildee said his campaign will focus on tax reform and job creation.
