U.S. House passes unemployment extension bill

The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed H.R. 3548, a bill co-sponsored by Michigan Reps. Gary Peters, Sander Levin, John Dingell, Dale Kildee and Candice Miller to extend unemployment benefits in certain high unemployment states for an additional 13 weeks. The bill passed by a 331-83 vote. In a press release, Rep. Peters said:
