From the county that gave us the HIV-as-terrorism case comes another salacious story of a sexually transmitted infection. This time incoming assistant Macomb County Executive Damian Kassab has tendered his resignation before he even started the job, reports Detroit TV station WXYZ.

The reason? Kelly Dobek with whom Kassab had an affair is suing him alleging he infected her with herpes.

Daniel Allen, the HIV-positive Clinton Township man at the center of controversial bioterrorism case, has been sentenced to 11 months probation. Allen plead no contest to an assault charge last month, and Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Peter Maceroni accepted the plea and issued the probation sentence Wednesday.
