LANSING — The state confirmed that a probable case of influenza A(H1N1), commonly known as swine flu, has been confirmed in a 34-year-old Livingston County woman. The state is also investigating a probable infection of an Ottawa County woman.

Michigan Department of Community Health to senate: Pass smoking ban during lame duck session

The Michigan Department of Community Health today sent a letter to the State Senate and House urging the passage of a ban on smoking in public places like eateries and bars. The legislation passed the State House in May on a vote of 65-39.
