The U.S. Senate voted 65-31 Saturday to repeal a law which prohibits openly gay citizens from serving in the U.S. armed forces. The vote came mid-afternoon, after the same body voted in the morning 63-33 to invoke closure, or move the bill to the floor for a final vote.

Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan, put out a press release late Thursday afternoon accusing the Grand Rapids NBC affiliate of colluding with gay rights activists to cancel the family groups’ controversial hour-long paid infomercial called “Speechless: Silencing the Christians.”
