City of Pontiac officials signed an agreement with the Oakand County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday evening which will disband the local police department and shift law enforcement activity to the sheriff’s department, reports the Detroit News. The move is expected to save the financially strapped city $2 million. It currently has a $12 million budget deficit.
