With all of the precincts reporting, the Secretary of State’s unofficial vote total shows Iron River physician Dan Benishek winning the District 1 primary by just one vote. Despite the closeness of the race, State Sen. Jason Allen (R-Alanson) declared victory last night, claiming that he “won the election outright.” A recount is expected.
