Republican precinct delegate out after walking Midland’s streets in KKK robes

Randy Gray, a Republican precinct delegate from Midland, has been booted out of an elected post in the party. The Saginaw News reports the Midland County Republican Party kicked Gray out because of his day after the elections antics where he wandered up and down a busy intersection in Midland dressed in his Klan robes.

The county party released a written statement about the dismissal of Gray, part of which was quoted in the News.

“Now that the election is over, it is time for our country to come together to solve the many important issues that face our nation,” county Republican Party officials said in a prepared statement. “It is also time for the Republican Party, our leaders and activists at all levels to return to our party’s core principles, and racism is certainly not one of them.

“Mr. Gray has not been active in the local Republican Party outside of his election as a precinct delegate, and in light of his recent actions, the committee voted to remove him from his post.”

Gray said he is considering legal action to get his post back, saying he has done nothing illegal.

Gray’s ties to white nationalism were first reported by Media Mouse and Michigan Messenger in Sept.

I knew the local party would do the right thing as soon as I saw the Saginaw News article. Unfortunately, party caucuses only happen a couple times a year.

I find it humorous that Gray argues that people have the right to associate with whom they wish but doesn't recognize how that goes two directions. That is – he can't force his association on others. Clearly, the Republican Party has the right to disassociate with this schmuck. If the ACLU doesn't laugh at his case on the lack of legal merits, I'll be shocked.
