Despite evidence of the impact of mercury on children and public health, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette last month joined with 24 other state attorneys general in filing a lawsuit to scuttle new EPA regulations that would reduce mercury emissions from power plants.

God files motion in California gay marriage case

God, Herself, has filed a motion in support proposition 8, the amendment to ban gay marriage in California.

Divine Queen Mariette Do-Nguyen filed her motion with the Supreme Court of California Nov. 17. In the filing, Do-Nguyen, who runs the Kingdom of Heaven World Divine Mission in San Diego, files a declaration in which she writes:

I am the Co-Creator of earth and human souls with the fully God nature of Messiah Jesus as revealed in the Holy Bible, 1:26-27.

This declaration includes an excerpt from an alleged psychiatric evaluation by Dr. Gerald Nelson– who coincidentally is co-author of one of her books– which states:

“And finally traditional psychiatry has little to offer Mariette. Medications and psychotherapy will likely cause her harm, leading to confusion and perhaps insurmountable despair. The church can provide what medicine cannot; and understanding compassionate of Mariette’s calling. Allowing her respect the freedom to express and live out her dreams and visions in a way that will benefit mankind.”

And yes, that’s right, God Herself had a vision which lead to this filing, which argues approving gay marriage and abortion along with the invasion of Iraq are the cause of the problems in America.

“After a night full of dreams, before dawn November 11, 2008, before I woke up the morning, the Almighty Eternal Creator ordered me, saying, “You explain to them the consequences that follow each and all actions. Once they understand, they will listen!”

    For a fan of the ridiculous like me, this woman's website is a goldmine of absurdity. My favorite part of her bio is when she says that her “full divinity slowly became visible to her natural being” in 1991, thus ending “the Divine Queen's natural career as a life-insurance agent” in 1994. There's also this bizarre account of how God created human beings by putting a bear in the womb of a monkey. She says:

    The theory of monkeys to human natural bodies is incorrect, because monkeys have long arms and long tails. Humans first changed to monkeys and then to bears. In order for species to evolve into human natural bodies, God changed the souls' creation formula from long arms and tails to shorter arms and tails, and He changed from monkey souls to bear souls before having souls evolve into human souls. In this way, bears did not grow long tails, long arms, and legs like a monkey.     I'm sure the court will give this brief the full attention it deserves. Surely one of the justices must have a birdcage that needs lining or some fish that needs wrapping.
