VIDEO: Foreclosures in Michigan mind-numbing in number

By LoRayne Apo-Joynt | 11.19.08 | 8:49 am

In case you haven’t seen this already, some chap made a YouTube video of the legal notices of foreclosure in Wayne County. It’s rather surreal to see so many all in one tidy bundle of newsprint; residents across the state are used to seeing the telltale notice in the window here and there around their neighborhoods, but this experience doesn’t convey the enormity of the existing problem the way this video does.

A source recently told Michigan Messenger that foreclosures have run in excess of 8,000 a month in this state. One might wonder how high that number might be should one or all of the Big Three go into bankruptcy and fail.

this is mind numbing, and scares the hell out of me. I fear for my Kids and Friends, esp. those that are retired from the big 3. even in petoskey, there are tons of notices every week. I've heard arguements on both sides for the bailout of the big 3, but think it's probably too late, too little. But, ol' dub had some bucks left to slither to the oil gods. Bring Your Iversons if Ya head Home to da Yoop…
