Cities don't rebuild themselves... Dkmich,

Thank you for your comment. First let me clear up something that perhaps was not clear in the article. The hallways are monitored in Research Park, not Woodbridge estates. Woodbridge estates is the site with the homes ranging from 179K and up.

Having said that, I share your concern that positive things must happen and my main concern is that there will be too many people leaving the city claiming to come back when it gets better. Then if and when the city does not get better, their reasons for leaving become more and more justified.

I am not old enough to remember the street cars but I do recall a time when there was a stronger sense of community. I just ask that we continue to take a personal investment in improving the city (like volunteering). Cities don't rebuild by themselves.

Thanks Dkmich.

Brandon White

Revitalizing Detroit is suppose to be a bad thing? When I look at our city (what little is left of it), I want to cry. I can remember streetcars, Hudsons, and a real bustling downtown. The sooner it gentrifies, the better off it and Detroiters will be. Hell, we might even get some of our kids back home from Chicago.

Having said that, the last place I would want to live at a cost of 300K is somewhere where the hallways have to be constantly monitored.
