It’s YOUR turn: Poll the Pollsters

By LoRayne Apo-Joynt | 12.18.07 | 3:30 pm

The next time the phone rings, don’t walk, RUN to pick it up.  It might be your chance to quiz the pollsters who’ve been pestering you with questions during the last election seasons.

Michigan Messenger and its sister organizations within the Center for Independent Media are participating in Huffington Post’s OffTheBus Polling Project.  As HuffPo explains it, “Our aim is simple: to get a better understanding of how polling is being used across the country. We want to get to the bottom of how pollsters conduct their surveys, how they gather and build their stats, how they target who they contact, and, ultimately, how they reach their conclusions? conclusions that often fuel the very races they are supposed to be analyzing.”

How do you fit in?  Share your polling experiences with us using the linked icon at the left in this post and in our navigation bar, and tell us exactly how you’ve been polled. The polling industry has been operating out of sight while generating sizable impact on our election process. Let’s turn it around and subject them to some sunshine with the Polling Project.
