McCotter drops out of GOP Presidential battle

Michigan Congressman Thaddeus McCotter has ended his longshot bid to be nominated by the Republican party as their presidential candidate in 2012.

The Detroit News reports McCotter told the paper he was out of the race because he was frozen out of debates.

“If they keep you out of the debates, you are out of the conversation and you can’t run,” McCotter said. “It was sort of death by media.”

McCotter has been cut out of all the debates since he announced his quixotic run in July.
