I am writing today to announce the closure of the Michigan Messenger. After four years of operation in Michigan, the board of the American Independent News Network, has decided to shift publication of its news into a single site, The American Independent at Americanindependent.com. This is part of a shift in strategy, towards new forms [...]
An abstinence-only presentation provided to numerous school districts in Calhoun and Eaton Counties in October of this year provided false and misleading information to students about HIV, experts allege.
Two county registers of deeds filed a class action lawsuit Monday on behalf of Michigan’s 83 counties alleging that the Mortgage Electronic Registration Services owes millions of dollars in property title transfer taxes.
Despite evidence of the impact of mercury on children and public health, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette last month joined with 24 other state attorneys general in filing a lawsuit to scuttle new EPA regulations that would reduce mercury emissions from power plants.
Appearing as part of an Iowa bus tour launched by national religious conservatives, U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter told Iowans Thursday that fiscal and social issues aren’t separable.
“As you know, many people like to pretend there is a divide between economic conservatism and social conservatism,” McCotter said while standing beside the Values Voter Bus in Sioux City.
“We understand that we can only have a prosperous economy if we have a virtuous citizenry.”
McCotter explained, as he has previously in Iowa, that government must be restructured for the 21st century, and, specifically, that entitlement programs must be cut or completely phased out.
The Values Bus Tour is being organized by the National Organization for Marriage, the Susan B. Anthony List and Family Research Council Action’s Faith Family Freedom Fund. The groups are being joined at various stops along the tour by social conservative Iowa groups as well. All the groups, state and national, hope to make their presence known in the state during the lead-up to the Ames Straw Poll on Saturday and, ultimately, into the 2012 Iowa caucuses.
Specifically the groups have rallied against legalized abortion and civil marriage for gays and lesbians, subjects that remained on the fringes of McCotter’s speech.
A video clip, uploaded by the McCotter presidential campaign, is embedded below:
His whole “run for the White House” is nothing more than ruse to use campaign funds to pay for the real reason he is not here in Michigan holding town halls, his book tour.

Blame the victim again. What we need is virtuous candidates, ones that do not take contributions from business that want the government to promote their profits and ignore the people. What do entitlements have to do with virtuosity? This is nonsense. We know where the crooks are. They are in Wall Street. Their money is paying for crooked politicians who are blaming the victims of their exploitation. They want to rob them of everything, even the support they get for health care in old age.

This man is an idiot. He doesn’t understand anything about macroeconomics. Banks paid back all the bailout loans. They were virtuous. You can balance a budget without tearing down all government and making everybody economically “free.” If you take away government that supports the laws, the courts, and regulation you create poverty and chaos for all. If you vote for this idiot you might as well move to Somalia today. They have complete freedom from government taxation and regulation and they are living in Hell.

What the economy needs are vituous leaders. That does not include some self-promoting tool that wraps himself in the flag and waves a bible. We don’t need less taxes for the “job creators”. The fact is that the very corperations that headed this drive for lower taxes have been laying off personel and have plans to lay off more. These corperations use our free country to become mega-rich, but keep their money offshore so that they don’t have to pay for the freedoms that they enjoy. That’s fact, check it out if you don’t believe me! Until the money is taken out of politics, the average smuck will never get a fair shake. I agree that their has to be a restructuring of the govenment, but the key is found in the election process. I’d gladly give an extra $10 or $20 in my taxes to an election fund that would have to be divided equally amongst the candidates to assure a government not bought out by special interest groups, and possibly even from foriegn influences. The way that the Republican / business biased Supreme Court has the system slanted, you just don’t know, cuz they don’t have to disclose from where the money came. The virtuous people are the men and women looking for a decent job, or have a decent job. Who want to raise a family and want to pay their taxes, cuz they know that’s how you promote a thriving economy. We don’t need more tools bought and paid for by banks and big business like McCotter, McConnell, Boehner, Snyder, Cantor, Ryan, Upton, etc., etc.! And just in case nobody has been paying attention to the rest of the world, nobody likes a govenment run by and for the very few at the cost of the virtuous citizenry!

All of the Washington politcians are bought and paid for. The corporations run the country now. They even have human rights thanks to the Repubs. They have robbed us of trillions and are going to take it all.

Wow
So now our economy is a mess because we the citizens are not virtuious. Right the everyday citizens warped our tax code, took us to war without raising taxes to pay for it. Our bad economy is not caused by abortions, gay marriage, social security and medicare or even the lazy amongst us who have spent generations on public welfare…it is the few at the top who made sure this economy only works for them! What do all other failed states have in common….weak central government that does not protect the interest of their middle class….Sure McCotter cut the only thing left uniting the American people..our desire to provide one another with dignity….riots in the street anybody?
