Agema plans Sept. hearing on undocumented workers

By Todd A. Heywood | 08.05.11 | 4:36 pm

Rep. Dave Agema (R-Grandville) is planning hearings on Sept. 13 to push his anti-undocumented workers legislative agenda.

On his Facebook page Agema posted the following message on Thursday:

Anyone who has been hurt or lost their job to an illegal that wishes to testify in Lansing before the committee on Sept 13 concerning why we need to stop illegal immigration, please call my office at 517-373-8900. It seems many oprganizations [sic] are trying to continue the practice of allowing illegal immigration in Michigan.

And in a second post he wrote:

The Mi. Chamber of Commerce, Farm Bureau and Catholic Bishops are opposing bills stopping illegal immigration. Speak up know, or lose the battle.

Agema forgot to mention that Gov. Rick Snyder — also a Republican — opposes such legislation.

Ryan Bates, executive director for Alliance for Immigration Rights and Reform Michigan, had this to say about Agema’s advertisement:

“I support Governor Snyder’s position on this issue — an Arizona-style racial-profiling law is just more divisive politics that will hurt jobs and innovation here in Michigan. At a time when Michigan is losing population, we simply can’t afford to put up a ‘you’re not welcome’ sign to the world.”

Of course Snyder opposes this legislation.  Don’t be fooled by this.  Where else is he going to get his slave labor for his rich buddies who he works for.  Impeach Snyder its the American thing to do!  It is also the law.  He has a lot of misconduct and he stole all our votes with his EFM!  Where is the justice department?  In Rick’s pocket?  The one with all the money?

Snyder should be recalled.  But he’s correct in opposing this bill.
