I am writing today to announce the closure of the Michigan Messenger. After four years of operation in Michigan, the board of the American Independent News Network, has decided to shift publication of its news into a single site, The American Independent at Americanindependent.com. This is part of a shift in strategy, towards new forms [...]
An abstinence-only presentation provided to numerous school districts in Calhoun and Eaton Counties in October of this year provided false and misleading information to students about HIV, experts allege.
Two county registers of deeds filed a class action lawsuit Monday on behalf of Michigan’s 83 counties alleging that the Mortgage Electronic Registration Services owes millions of dollars in property title transfer taxes.
Despite evidence of the impact of mercury on children and public health, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette last month joined with 24 other state attorneys general in filing a lawsuit to scuttle new EPA regulations that would reduce mercury emissions from power plants.
A group called Transformation Michigan says it wants to unite state residents in prayer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, with the goal of influencing political and societal change. But some of the folks involved have a long track record of making claims that are unorthodox, to say the least.
The group holds weekly teleconferences with guests like Jerry Boykin, Rick Joyner and Cindy Jacobs, prominent members of the New Apostolic Reformation movement. Boykin is a retired general who led American special forces. He was disciplined by the Pentagon after appearing at a church service in his uniform and telling the audience that we would win the war on terrorism because the Christian God is real and the Muslim God is not.
Since retiring from the military, Boykin has seemingly gotten more and more extreme in his views. Here’s a video clip of him recently telling an audience that President Obama is building up his own version of the Nazi Brownshirts with a provision hidden in the health care reform bill:
And here’s video of Rick Joyner telling his followers that the recent earthquake in Japan would unleash “demons” in America that will lead to the nation becoming just like Nazi Germany:
Cindy Jacobs recently claimed that the death of a large number of birds in Arkansas was a curse by God as punishment for Congress lifting the military’s Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell program.

Sounds like Boykin’s PROJECTING! Never forget that Hitler, despite his hatred of Christianity, proclaimed himself a committed Christian who swore fealty to Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour.
Ditto, Rick Joyner.

It’s people like Joyner who are the real terrorists in this country.
