Oil still visible on Talmadge Creek and Kalamazoo River

Recent aerial photos published by the Michigan Dept. of Environmental Quality show that oil from last summer’s Enbridge pipeline spill in Marshall is still present in Talmadge Creek and the Kalamazoo River.

The photos are available here.

Calhoun County health officials have banned contact with the Kalamazoo River.

Enbridge is facing civil suits in Calhoun County and federal court and is also expected to be criminally charged in connection with the pipeline rupture.

    Guess its a good thing the state took away the peoples right to take polluting corporations to court for lack of safety precautions, pollution, or failure to cleanup pollution, or take the state to court for failing to enforce the above.

    But it’s pry not considered ‘failing’ if the state doesn’t do any of the above
    because
    it believes doing so would ‘hinder economic development’.

    Maybe they mean the cleanup jobs?
