In my estimation the very fact that Colbert has selected this issue in a brilliant ‘tour-de-farce’ segment should also make it a national rallying cry and warning to us all. The EFM law is potentially very dangerous and unprecedented in it’s scope and power to deprive us all of basic constitutional rights. If it is not repealed, it will lead to increased cronyism and corruption that will not simply end at the borders of Detroit, Benton Harbor or Pontiac. No county, city, township or hamlet is immune.
