Walberg unleashes new negative ad against Schauer

By Todd A. Heywood | 09.18.08 | 6:56 am

The race for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District seat is heating up again. Republican incumbent Tim Walberg unleashed a new advertisement Wednesday against his Democratic rival, state Senator Mark Schauer featuring a Jackson insurance agent named Kathy Potts. During the commercial, Potts says Schauer raised taxes and accuses him of allowing adults to send porno to children.

She then says:

“Both times Mark Schauer put our children’s future at risk and I won’t forget that on election day.”

Schauer wasted no time in attacking the ad, first in a press release and then in a response-video rebutting the allegations. In the release, Schauer’s press release carried the shouted-out, all-caps headline, “LIES FROM DESPERATE WALBERG CAMPAIGN IN DESPICABLE NEW ATTACK AD.”
