Biden, Michael Moore get news from Michigan Messenger

By Minehaha Forman | 09.16.08 | 6:57 am

I have to admit, I was pretty proud Monday morning when I saw the Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden talking about news that Michigan Messenger broke. I also felt pretty good when I found out Michael Moore linked to the video I shot of a protest at the McCain headquarters on Friday. He quoted a woman (whose home is in foreclosure) who told Michigan Messenger: “I’ve cut out phone, garbage service … anything that is technically, right now, a luxury.”

For me nothing’s more encouraging, as a new journalist, than seeing your colleagues’ efforts and your own efforts noticed by people you have respected and admired your whole life.

Joe Biden, speaking at a campaign rally in St. Claire Shores, Mich., Monday morning had this to say after hearing that a Republican County Chairman in Michigan admitted to intended use of property ownership data to contest voters on MichiganMessenger.com.

“I heard that a Republican County Chairman right here in this state, in Michigan said that they’re keeping a list of foreclosed homes, suggesting that if you’ve lost your home, you should also lose your vote. I have a different idea. I think that if you’re worried about losing your home, you should vote for the guys who are going to help you keep it!”

Biden spoke for about thirty minutes during which he gave McCain and the Republicans a verbal lashing that would make Bill Clinton proud. Catch the whole thing RIGHT HERE.
