It appears the Michigan Messenger is not the only news outlet covering the oil spill in Calhoun county to run into access issues and concerns.
In Friday’s paper, the Battle Creek Enquirer notes in a caption to a photo that it had a hassle taking a picture of a skimming operation:
“A man from DK Security tried to prevent the Enquirer from taking this photo of booms and a skimming operation on the Kalamazoo River, taken from the property of United Educational Credit Union on Riverside Drive and Dickman Road on Thursday morning. Credit union management gave an Enquirer photographer permission to be on their property. (John Grap/The Enqurier)”
Michigan Messenger has had several situations where it has been denied access or provided limited access at public access locations along the Kalamazoo River.
