The Michigan Messenger is proud to announce the launching of a new sister site, the North Carolina Independent. NCI will be a page on the recently launched American Independent and will feature original news reporting from the Tar Heel state.

David Bennahum, President and CEO of the American Independent News Network, which includes the Michigan Messenger, had this to say about the new site:

“The North Carolina Independent News focuses on impact journalism, setting it apart from other news outlets in the state. Our team is already hard at work reporting on stories that North Carolinians deserve to learn about. We look forward to continuing to investigating the underreported issues of the state while also providing a look beyond the surface of popular topics.”

And we at the Michigan Messenger welcome our new colleagues to the network and look forward to watching the new site develop.
