Army Pfc. Bryan R. Thomas, 22, died Thursday in Baghdad when a bomb went off near the vehicle in which he was riding, the Pentagon said. Also killed was Sgt. Kenneth W. Mayne, 29, of Fort Benning, Ga. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division based in Fort Hood, Texas.
Thomas was the 4,155th U.S. casualty in the war in Iraq, and the 989th casualty from the state of Michigan.
