A man the FBI says is from Flint, Mich. is currently being held in Minnesota on charges related to possession of alleged Molotov cocktails.

According to an arrest warrant and affidavit released by ABC News, 23-year-old Matthew Bradley DePalma made five Molotov cocktails as well as a substance alleged to have been napalm-like. In addition, DePalma went to a rural area outside Minneapolis to test his Molotov cocktails.

According to the affidavit of Christopher V. Langert, a special agent with the FBI, DePalma came to his attention from a confidential source who had infiltrated allegedly radical groups planning to protest the Republican National Committee in Minneapolis.

The confidential source connected with DePalma at another gathering in another city, and asked DePalma to look him up when he was in Minneapolis.

The sworn statement of Langert says the confidential informant found DePalma then invited the Flint man to his apartment.

While there, the confidential source allowed FBI agents to video and audio tape conversations in the bugged apartment and drove DePalma to purchase items he allegedly used to create his Molotov cocktails.

In addition, DePalma allegedly gave several Molotov cocktails to the confidential source with the understanding that he would distribute them to other “radicals,” according to the FBI.
