After four years of operation in Michigan, the board of the American Independent News Network, has decided to shift publication of its news into a single site, The American Independent at Americanindependent.com. This is part of a shift in strategy, towards new forms [...]

Palin: Iraq invasion should be God’s plan

By Ed Brayton | 09.03.08 | 6:38 pm

This is from a speech that Sarah Palin gave to a bunch of high school kids at her church a few months ago (see video here):

“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right also for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we are praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

Just what we need while trying to convince the Muslim world that the invasion of Iraq was not a Christian crusade against Islam, a Vice President who thinks that our leaders should be following “God’s plan” when going to war. What exactly is the difference between a Christian who thinks God tells them to go to war against Iraq and, say, Osama Bin Laden, who believes that God tells him to go to war against America? People who think God tells them to kill people are insane; they certainly shouldn’t be electable.

Sarah, the mother of a nation, has spoken the words that most American's are begging to hear from our leaders. You must have missed it Ed but Radical Islam declared war against America. Radical Islam doesn't want Western civilization to have the freedom of religious choice that our great nation offers though. They want the world to convert to their views or die. What would you have America do, compromise with that idealogy? Compromising with insane Muslims hasn't turned out so well for Israel has it? Israelis occupy a space the size of New Jersey while the Islam powers that be control the rest of the Middle East. There is no compromising with that mentality and this is no time to elect indecisive leaders that have zero experience dealing with foreign affairs.

America is finally succeeding in Iraq. John McCain was right when he supported the surge and Barry Obama was dead wrong! John McCain responded appropriately when Russia invaded Georgia and that's why Barry Obama parroted Senator McCain a few days after realizing his own neutral and indecisive position on the matter had went over like a lead balloon.

Since John McCain is a macho military type, he struggles with expressing his Christian beliefs. Sarah can deliver this message with eloquence and grace and America will eagerly eat it up with a spoon. The first Puritans, the Founding Fathers, and all of our greatest Presidents and leaders were God fearing men and made no bones about expressing their Christian faith. America was founded on the Common Law of England, a page torn from Moses' Book of Law. If you don't think so, take a tour of our nation's Capital. Everywhere one looks, verses from the Good Book are etched in stone. Our Supreme Court Justices sit before a depiction of Moses holding the Ten Commandments. At the east entrance of America's highest Court of law, Moses sits atop the main door reminding everyone who enters, of the principles that America was founded upon.

Get it right. Christianity is not a religion of hate. Islam is a relion of hate and confusion. Arab nations have never been able to get along with themselves, let alone other nations of the world. Islam is a religion of oppression and death. Islam is a relion of cowardess- blowing up women and children rather than fighting their opponents like brave men of valour. Christianity is a message of strength, charity, and freedom. America didn't become the strongest nation in the world by listening to wishy washy wimps that would turn tail and run rather than face those that hate us and defend our faith, homeland and families.

America is pleading for a leader that will return us to the Christian heritage and values that has made us the most blessed nation in the world. If Mother Sarah can move the hearts of the Moral Majority…GAME OVER!

I see no point in responding to your screeds anymore, Amanda. It's become quite clear that you're a first class nut.

Amanda, they put Sarah on the ticket just for people like you — people whose opinions can be easily manipulated.

I'm personally appalled that the same people who bash liberals for their mores are so willing to embrace somebody who does not live up to their own standards. She's not particularly Godly if she's putting her job before her family, to the point where her daughter hasn't received the kind of supervision she should have from her parents.

And I find your labeling of Palin as “mother of a nation” offensive. This nation was not borne of Ms. Palin, and if Ms. Palin and her spouse had their way, Alaska would have seceded from the U.S. taking its oil and natural gas with it. Borders on treason — and you embrace her.
