Riddle to get plea deal on assault charge

Detroit political consultant Sam Riddle may finally have caught at least a little bit of a break in a series of criminal investigations and charges. Wayne County prosecutors told the judge in his state trial on assault charges that they plan to offer him a plea agreement in that case.

There was no indication of what the plea deal might be. Prosecutors and Riddle’s attorney will undoubtedly be negotiating such an agreement over the next few weeks. If there is a trial, it is scheduled to begin on May 3.
