Snyder, Cox and Hoekstra in 3-way tie

By Ed Brayton | 03.19.10 | 7:34 am

A new poll by Inside Michigan Politics and the Marketing Resource Group found Attorney General Mike Cox, U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and venture capitalist Rick Snyder in a virtual three way tie for first place with 21 percent, 21 percent and 20 percent respectively. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard is in 4th place at only 10 percent.

In the Democratic race, House Speaker Andy Dillon leads Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero 21 percent to 9 percent, but that race is really just getting started and that leaves an overwhelming majority still undecided. State Rep. Alma Wheeler Smith comes in at 6 percent. The bad news continues for Democrats, as the leading Republican candidates — even third place Bouchard — beat any of the Democratic candidates at this point by at least 15 points.
