February auto sales strong for GM

By Ed Brayton | 03.02.10 | 11:25 am

The final sales figures are starting to come in from all of the domestic and foreign automotive manufacturers for the month of February. Automotive News will be updating this chart all day long as they come in. So far the only domestic company to report is General Motors, which came in with strong sales up 12 percent over the same month last year.

That 12 percent gain is particularly impressive when you consider that GM is marketing fewer brands than last year and sales of the four brands it is phasing out — Hummer, Saab, Saturn and Pontiac — are predictably dormant. The boost has come in their four core brands — Chevy, Buick, GMC and Cadillac.
