The Michigan Messenger going forward

By Staff Report | 11.16.11

I am writing today to announce the closure of the Michigan Messenger. After four years of operation in Michigan, the board of the American Independent News Network, has decided to shift publication of its news into a single site, The American Independent at Americanindependent.com. This is part of a shift in strategy, towards new forms [...]

Bristol Palin: unwed, unvirginal, unsafe (on the road), and completely unremarkable

By Todd Spencer | 09.01.08 | 5:38 pm

John McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. In and of itself, the revelation is no knock on Palin’s parenting says Jeff Morley, national editorial director of Michigan Messenger’s parent organization, The Center for Independent Media.

A parent himself, Jeff knows kids will be kids and he probably also knows it’s easy to judge parents from afar.

This potentially embarrassing situation for the Republicans falls less at the feet of Gov. Palin, writes Jeff,  and more at the righteous altar of fundamentalism and its calls against prophylactics and its blind insistence on abstinence, which we all know doesn’t exist outside the world of 40-something computer programmers in Silicon Valley.

This is a plus. As Mark Steyn points out in his recent best seller, America Alone, if our western civilization is demographically to survive in the increasingly “hostile to the west” islamic world — and not end up like the sinking European populations — these are the precise people (the Bristol Palins’) we should thank for increasing their progeny.

First, I find your post objectionably bigoted. You seem to think that the rest of the world see Americans as innocent bystanders; I'll recommend “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” by John Perkins and Naomi Klein's “Shock Doctrine” to disabuse you of such thought.

Secondly, no thank you, I'd rather not have yet another ignoramus breeding more ignoramuses merely to build population. That's pretty irresponsible for a host of reasons.
