It's not that Rep Scott doesn't know about this stuff, it's that he figures the bigots who support him don't know either, and he can hide it. The following was left as a comment on his blog:

Downs Syndrome comes to mind first but I know there are a lot of other ones.<br>3) Why does he care about this anyway? No one hurts another for being a different gender. We don't want anything but to be treated, seen, identified as another gender. As a M-F TS, I just want to be a woman..just a woman.
