Toyota’s recall problems continue

The Associated Press reports that Toyota is now recalling 437,000 more vehicles in addition to the more than 5 million already recalled in the United States (more than 8 million worldwide) due to problems with the gas pedals sticking. The new recall, which affects the 2010 Toyota Prius and other hybrid vehicles, is due to a problem with the brakes not engaging immediately during cold weather.

These problems have proven to be an opportunity for the Big Three American automakers to regain market share lost to Toyota in the past. Ford and GM are both offering incentives to lure Toyota owners away.
