Abdullah autopsy to be released soon

By Ed Brayton | 01.29.10 | 7:38 am

The Detroit Free Press reports that the Wayne County medical examiner’s office is expected to release the results of the autopsy performed on Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah by Monday. Abdullah was gunned down during a raid by the FBI and the Dearborn Police Department in October.

The autopsy has been completed for several weeks but the county has refused to release it in response to FOIA requests by the Michigan Messenger and other outlets because the Dearborn Police asked them to keep it secret until their investigation was complete. Interest in the autopsy is fueled by speculation that Abdullah arrived at the coroner’s office in handcuffs despite being dead at the scene of the raid.
