The Detroit News seems to be having a difficult time deciding whether passengers at Metro Airport were confronted by unusually long lines due to heightened security measures in the wake of an attempted terrorist attack on a flight from Amsterdam on Christmas day, or whether they were greeted by surprisingly short lines in the wake of the incident.
On the front page of the News website as this is being written are two articles right next to one another. The first article begins:
Travelers at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport encountered long lines, the result of holiday travel plus heightened security measures following a failed bombing on a flight from Amsterdam on Christmas Day.
And the second article begins:
Airline travelers who arrived early for flights Saturday at Metro Airport after an attempted Christmas Day terrorist attack were surprised at the level of calm inside the airport and the thin lines for passengers.

I suppose this is both good news and bad news, but they can’t both be true at the same time.
