Wayne County attorney says Dearborn Police Dept. made request to withold Abdullah autopsy report

By David Alire Garcia | 12.10.09 | 6:51 am

The Dearborn Police Department has asked Wayne County not to divulge the autopsy report of Luqman Ameen Abdullah, according to Wayne County Chief Assistant Corporation Counsel Marianne Talon.

Explaining the delay on the part of the Wayne County Medical examiner’s office to decide that it would withhold the complete autopsy report, Talon said that the county was waiting for an official request from the Dearborn Police Department to block disclosure.

“We were waiting for something from Dearborn,” she said. “Dearborn didn’t want us to release it because they’re doing their investigation.”

Talon added that the Dearborn Police Department, which is conducting a homicide investigation into the Oct. 28 death of Abdullah, has expressed the view that releasing the autopsy report would “interfere with their investigation.”

The FBI is conducting a separate shooting investigation into the Oct. 28 FBI raids.

A message left Wednesday morning seeking comment from the Dearborn Police Department has yet to be returned.
