The Central Michigan University Campus Conservatives have invited the Republican field of candidates of governor to a debate in February.

According to the Midland Daily News, the event will be hosted by Saul Anuzis, the former chair of the Michigan Republican Party, and Bill Ballenger, editor of Inside Michigan Politics.

CM-Life reports the president of the group had this to say about the moderators:

“Bill Ballenger is a pretty big name in the state, so we thought he would be a great moderator to ask the questions,” [Campus Conservatives President Bryant] Greiner said. “With Saul Anuzis being the former Michigan Republican Party Chairman, he’s got the experience, and we thought it would be a good gesture to have him be a part of this.”

The debate will take place Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. Campus Conservatives have sent invitations to Attorney General Mike Cox, Congressman Pete Hoekstra, Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder, State Sen. Tom George, and Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard.

CM-Life reports George has confirmed his attendance at the debate.
