Mayor Bing on playing basketball with Obama

At the very end of David Shepardson’s story in today’s Detroit News about yesterday’s White House jobs meeting, the newspaper’s Washington Bureau chief relayed a revealing comment from Detroit Mayor Dave Bing.

Bing, who attended the meeting and made his case for the need for more federal funds, was apparently asked if he wanted to play basketball with President Obama during his brief trip to D.C., according to Shepardson.

Bing, one of the best professional basketball players of all-time, has this to say in response:

It’s probably less of a challenge playing him than it is running the city of Detroit.
