Why is it that when ever there is a budget crisis Rep. Bauer says, "We got to raise taxes to meet the needs of the state." I dont know if she has noticed, but THERE IS NO ONE LEFT TO RAISE TAXES ON IN MICHIGAN.

I say, what we should do is, "Implement a "Flat Tax." For example, Michigian Residents would pay like 3% on income. The flat tax would work for personal and business property as well. For example, everyone who pays property taxes would only pay a flat rate of 1%, or less.

As for businesses...lets make Michigan a "Business Friendly State, instead of a Business Repelling State." For example, Keep the base tax of 4.95% on all businesses, but reduce significantly or repeal altogether the 22% surcharge tax.

Also, the Gas Tax in Michigan should not be a percentage rate...lets charge one flat rate (for example, .10cents for every gallon of gas) which would make it cheaper for individuals to drive their cars, cheaper for businesses to transport goods, etc.

The time for raising taxes on individuals, businesses, property, sales, etc., is over. There are not that many people or businesses, that can pay these taxes left in Michigan, and if we continue to raise taxes on these people, they are just going to leave the state.

That just my thoughts...what are yours?
