Latest poll in Detroit election shows tight city council scrum

According to the latest poll released by EPIC-MRA for ABC affiliate WXYZ Channel 7, there’s an intense three-way race shaping up for the right to be the next city council president.

The contest for first-place in Tuesday’s municipal election pits incumbent Detroit City Council President Ken Cockrel Jr. (with 10 percent support in the poll) against challengers Charles Pugh and Gary Brown (both with nine percent).

Another 13 (of the 18 council candidates) are polling between seven and three percent citywide support in a race where 5 percent could secure the ninth position in the race.

In Detroit, council candidates run at-large for 9 council seats with the top vote-getter winning the council presidency. With one day to go before voters go to the polls, here’s the full breakdown from the poll:
