State Sen. Buzz Thomas calls last minute budget negotiations ‘embarrassing’

State Sen. Buzz Thomas (D-Detroit) slammed his fellow state lawmakers for taking so long to finalize the 2009/2010 budget in an interview on WDET’s radio program “Detroit Today” this afternoon.

“This is embarrassing and we owe our citizens better,” he told Detroit Today’s Craig Fahle in an interview. Thomas said he would be “screaming loudly” in the upcoming year to have budget negotiations start in January and be completed in June.
