SEIU-MI Endorses John Edwards

Per SEIU press release issued about 3:30 pm EDT today:

The SEIU Michigan State Council, which represents 80,000 health care, government, school and building services workers in Michigan, announced today it has joined with nine other SEIU State Councils across the country in endorsing John Edwards for president.

“Our members have spoken loud and clear: John Edwards has the best plan for ensuring that every American has access to affordable health care,” said Phil Thompson, SEIU Michigan State Council president and executive vice president of SEIU Local 517M. “He has a proven record of standing by working families to ensure they receive fair wages, access to quality and affordable health care and a secure retirement.”

SEIU represents about 80,000 workers in government, schools, health care workers, corrections and building services.
