Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser is looking for money to stop health care reform. In fundraising e-mail sent out Tuesday, the former U.S. ambassador to Slovakia claims some Democrats want to cancel private insurance plans and “put your family on Medicare.”
The Atlantic’s Chris Good got Weiser’s fundraising letter Tuesday and promptly posted it.
Weiser wrote in his fundraising appeal:
Some Democrats in Congress, including members from Michigan, are trying to pass laws to cancel your private health insurance and put your family on Medicare.
This is not a scare tactic; it’s the truth.
Or, not to make Lt. Gov John Cherry feel left out:
Michigan’s Lieutenant Governor John Cherry recently said in a townhall meeting state government should provide a system of health care for all. Cherry also encouraged a group of leftwing activists earlier this year to hit the streets promoting his vision of a government take-over of family health care.
No word yet on how much money the email appeal raised.
