A multi-jurisdictional drug task force operating in Kalkaska County has seized marijuana plants grown by Rapid City medical marijuana caregiver, Archie Keil. Authorities say that a profile of Keil published in the Northern Express Weekly included a photo that appeared to show that he had more plants than he was authorized to possess, the Traverse City Record Eaglereports.
Kalkaska County Prosecutor Brian Donnelly said that he’s not sure whether police will seek charges against Keil.
“There’s not enough consensus on this … I don’t want to be in the position where we appear to, or actually do encroach on something that’s legal,” Donnelly old the Record Eagle. “If it turns out there’s a prevailing legal (opinion) that we should have taken the rest of them, we can go back and take them all.”
