Our two U.S. Senators, Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin, announced more stimulus money bound for Michigan this week. $1.9 million will help fund wind energy research in the state, while $42 million is earmarked for rural wastewater projects around the state. In the press release, Stabenow said of the latter projects, “Water contamination not only poses public health risks, but threatens the environment as well. I am pleased that this funding will not only help prevent the danger to our rural communities, but will help create good-paying jobs.”
