FBI charges more than 50 Metro Detroiters of health care fraud

The FBI performed mass arrests in the Metro Detroit area Wednesday morning after more than 50 residents were named in grand jury indictments, the Detroit News reports. Those arrested are accused of accumulating a combined total of more than $50 million in health care fraud.

According to FBI officials, 38 people could be arraigned today at the U.S. district court in Detroit. The metro Detroit health care fraud arrests in this case will get national attention at a news conference planned in Washington, D.C., today, with Attorney General Eric Holder, FBI Director Robert Mueller and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Special Agent Sandra Berchtold of the Detroit FBI told The News.
